Nylstar restarts production

Yarn and fabric producer Nylstar has restarted production at its factory in Girona, Spain after eight months of inactivity, according to the country’s national workers’ union (UGT).

The company has completed all the required maintenance tasks, as well as securing an agreement with trade union representatives in relation to the working schedule of workers.

Nylstar has secured the financial resources to settle its debts and fulfill its immediate responsibilities to its suppliers. Last week, the company carried out a capital reduction of €4 million to compensate for losses it has accrued. 

The UGT responded positively to the restarting of production at the facility, as well as to the company’s optimism that it will be able to attract its old customers.
