QMILK considers unusual proposition

08/06/2015

Milk-derived fibre producer QMILK has won its category at the Germany-based GreenTec Awards and has announced a potential collaboration with Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko.

“It was a great night,” said the company, of the Berlin-based awards. “Since then, The BossHoss are dreaming of shirts made of milk and Klitschko had a vision: Boxing gloves made of QMILK fibre.”

Casein protein appears once the milk turns sour, water is added and the mixture ground into a paste. The pulp is pushed through a spinneret to form the fibre. It uses milk deemed not fit for consumption and therefore classed as waste.
