FabricLink names top textile innovations of 2013
Educational resource FabricLink has named its top 10 textiles innovations for 2013, naming Crailar Flax, Purthread, QMilk and Ramtec wool among them.
“We hope the technical textile advancements of this year's winners will inspire future achievements in the global textile marketplace,” said FabricLink in a statement.
Crailar is high-quality natural fibre which equates the comfort of cotton but exhibits performance characteristics similar to a synthetic, according to its manufacturers. Purthread teamed up with Kodak to offer antimicrobial textiles for sports. QMilk is a textile derived from milk which is set to go into mainstream production in April, and Ramtec is a wool insulation launched in January 2014.
