Crailar sells Belgian plant to reduce overheads

04/09/2015

Flax company Crailar has announced it will no longer operate its Belgian fibre production facility, a move that will reduce overheads by an estimated $1.6 million a year.

The move comes after a few years of difficulties and losses, particularly related to the operation of the plant.

The plant’s former owner, Schrurs, will buy it back and contract manufacture fibre for the Canadian company.
