Italian cycling brand includes eVent’s ePTFE membrane technology for the first time

The 2015 Northwave Arctic Jacket is designed with the newest eVent ePTFE membrane technology, called DVstretch. The Arctic will be on the market in October 2015.
In terms of the membrane technology, eVent’s new DVstretch solution is used in a three-layer laminate from another partner, ITTTAI-Bel Punto, the exclusive agent of fabrics using eVent DVstretch technology. The laminate covers the whole front and back surfaces of the jacket to provide protection from the wind, as well as high levels of breathability and elasticity. The fabric can stretch 35% and fully recover.
“This combination of performance benefits is ideal for aerobically demanding sports like cycling,” said Chad Kelly, global product manager for eVent fabrics, on announcing the partnership with Northwave. “Cyclists generate a lot of heat and moisture which needs to quickly escape through their clothing. But they also require essential protection from the wind and weather.”
