Northwave uses Singtex technology in waterproof jacket

02/09/2016
Italian cycling footwear and apparel brand Northwave has unveiled a waterproof jacket that uses Singtex’s coffee-based S.Café techonology at the 2016 edition of Eurobike in Friedrichshafen, Germany (August 31-September 4).

Northwave says the Rainskin Shield jacket offers  the “ideal match of water protection and aerodynamic performance”. It contains an exclusive four-way stretch membrane that clings to the body like a second skin. The stretchy flex panels adapt to the body to offer greater freedom of movement. A 10,000mm waterproof shield offers protection from the rain.

Singtex provided its P4Dry fabric printing technology for the garment. It uses repurposed coffee grounds to create an innter print layer that offers fast drying, odour control and a 30% reduction in moisture condensation. It is also environmentally-friendly as its uses recycled coffee grounds and oil.
