New stretch fabric from S.Cafe-maker Singtex

15/06/2018
Singtex, the Taiwanese manufacturer behind coffee-based fabric S.Cafe, has announced the development of a new stretch fabric which it claims can offer an alternative to spandex. It has called this fabric S.LEISURE.

Singtex has said the fabric is designed to replace fabrics with 6% spandex or below. It has explained that the dyeing process used for S.LEISURE is “at least 20% more energy efficient than spandex”.

Among its properties are breathability, fast-drying and good recovery. It is also said to be lightweight. Singtex says these properties make it suitable for use in athleisure, training and sports apparel, adding that its high colour fastness and flexibility will help garments to last longer.

Singtex will display S.LEISURE as part of its offering at the forthcoming OutDoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen (June 17-20) and at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Denver, US (July 23-26).
