Winners of 2018 OutDoor Industry Awards revealed

A total of 37 OutDoor Industry Awards were handed out on the first day of the OutDoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen, Germany (June 17-20).

A six-member judging panel, consisting of journalists, designers, industry experts and alpinists, was charged with testing and evaluating over 250 products. 

Eleven products were singled out for their “exceptional innovation in sustainability, design and functionality” and received a Gold Award.

The 11 Gold Award winners were:

• Terrex Agravic Windweave jacket from adidas
• Skibotn Gore-Tex Pro jacket from Norrøna
• Wildfire Edge shoe from Salewa
• Unico shoe from Naglev
• Atrack waterproof pack from Ortlieb
• Apex Wall carry system from Salewa
• Skimo Total Race mountaineering crampon from C.A.M.P.
• FjellGuard 60 hybrid mat from Oase Outdoors
• inReach Mini emergency device from Garmin
• Nordic Pocket chainsaw from Del Torri
• Recycled Spandex from Sheico Group

In addition, the judges selected Duck Rings training rings from Tindeq as the winner of the start-up award.
