Northwave partners with Astana cycling team

Extreme Pro is Northwave’s new top-end model. It features several of the brand’s most recent technological solutions, which it has said makes it “the highest-performing Northwave shoe ever”.
The upper is designed using Northwave’s XFrame system, which eliminates pressure points and provides even fit. The brand has incorporated a double SLW2 dial to allow riders to tighten the fit around the instep and forefoot. A soft microfibre is used to guarantee a snug fit, greater stability and better connection between the sole and closure.
Northwave has also added its top-performing outsole, the Powershape Carbon 15. It has a tubular-inspired design for maximum stiffness. The company’s Speedplay adaptor ensures the shortest possible distance between foot and pedal for maximum power.
Astana’s riders will wear Northwave Extreme Pro footwear in competition for the first time at the Tour Down Under, which begins in Australia on January 15. It is the first event on the 2019 calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI) World Tour, the highest level of professional cycling.
