Concept III will help Coolcore take its cooling system to brands

10/07/2015
Activewear fabrics developer and producer Concept III has announced a new partnership with specialist, chemical-free cooling fabric provider Coolcore.

Impressed by Coolcore’s success in winning an innovation technology award for cooling power from the Hohenstein Institute in Germany, Concept III will now seek to introduce Coolcore technology to the network of high-profile brands it works with.

Coolcore’s patented, chemical-free fabric technology uses a proprietary combination of fibres and
cross-sections for three specific functions: wicking, moisture transportation and controlling the rate at which the moisture evaporates from the garment to achieve a cooling effect. These components can help to make a fabric’s surface temperature up to 30% lower than skin temperature. And because Coolcore technology is chemical-free, the performance benefits never wash out.

“So many outdoor activities are high energy or take place in warmer weather, making Coolcore
an attractive selling point for all apparel and fabric based performance products,” said Chris Parkes,
Concept III partner and director of sales, on making the announcement.

Coolcore vice-president Scott McQuade said at the time that he believes consumers and retailers  are becoming “more savvy about performance apparel” and are “averse” to the chemical applications used in many technologies on the market.
