Outdoor Retailer alters winter dates

14/07/2015
US trade show Outdoor Retailer has announced a shift in dates for its winter editions after feedback from retailers and manufacturers.

The Winter Market 2016 will take place from January 7-10, earlier than it has traditionally been held.

“There are three major reasons the market prefers the new dates,” said show director Marisa Nicholson. “First, the move earlier in the sales cycle benefits specialty retailers looking to finalize or tweak orders before ordering deadlines and see new products and suppliers earlier. Second, we avoid being close to other industry events and away from the important Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Finally, the new dates allow us to avoid the Sundance Film Festival entirely, which will have a housing benefit.”

The 2017 show is slated for January 7-10 and the 2018 show scheduled for January 6-9.

Outdoor Retailer Summer Market will stage August 3-6, 2016, with the Open Air Demo scheduled for August 2, 2016.
