Positive reports from OutDoor despite worries over economy

The four day show, which finished on July 18, featured a new hall and a new Wednesday-to-Saturday schedule, which “further reinforced the business nature of the show”.
Mammut CEO Rolf Schmid said the outdoor industry has "done more" in the past 12 months than it has in the last 12 years. “Given these significant developments, the OutDoor in Friedrichshafen is the ideal venue to meet with all important colleagues and partners to sit down at the same table and discuss, scrutinise and confirm appropriate strategies,” he added.
Around 940 exhibitors from 41 countries presented their latest outdoor products and innovations
European Outdoor Group general secretary, Mark Held said: “There was a great and very positive atmosphere at OutDoor this year. At a time when competition is more intense than ever, exhibitors and visitors were clearly working hard to ensure they are ahead of the game in capitalising on emerging trends and introducing relevant new products and sub-categories to a rapidly evolving market.”
According to a visitor survey, 88% of guests see a visit to the trade show as important or very important. Regarding the economic problems of the outdoor industry, 48% of visitors described them as on the increase, while 39% felt they remained the same.
