Climbing speed is key for Haglöfs concept
Swedish outdoor brand Haglöfs has focused on climbing speed for its new concept, which was in development for a number of years and will be launched at OutDoor Friedrichshafen.
Mountain Ultimate features “minimalistic products in which every feature has been carefully evaluated”.
“When the goal is to get to the top of the mountain and down again as quickly as possible – this is becoming the ultimate challenge for more and more people - it does not allow for mistakes of any kind, whether in preparation, training, execution or equipment,” said the company.
The signature product is the Herakles jacket, a technical shell jacket made from Gore-Tex C-Knit, with adapted fit and stretch of the hood and elasticated cuffs.
The Mountain Ultimate backpack has been developed with mountain guide and technical design advisor Jacopo Bufacchi.
ROC Helios 25 is made of Dimension Polyant X-pac and has only a few features. “It goes to great lengths to meet the needs of people who want to prioritize speed in their climbing,” said the company.
OutDoor Friedrichshafen takes place in Germany between July 15 and 18.
ASICS-owned Haglöfs is marketed to 25 European and Asian markets and the company employs 200. Sales for 2014 totalled SEK 766 million ($90 million).
