Dimension-Polyant upgrades best-selling X-Pac references
US-based technical textile manufacturer Dimension-Polyant is introducing ‘greener’ versions of its high-tech fabrics at Performance Days, on today and tomorrow. X-Pac VX21, a four-layer laminate used by countless pack and bag brands, is now available with a sturdy nylon face fabric made from discarded fishing nets, a 100% recycled GRS-certified made by Hyosung (regen Ocean Nylon). The laminate is treated with a non-fluorinated DWR and is offered in black, white, arctic grey and sea green.

“Brands are excited about X-Pac VX21 OE because it’s waterproof, incredibly durable, and engineered with a purpose – to protect our oceans and planet,” commented Taylor North, head of Dimension-Polyant’s Technical Fabrics. He added that early adopter Peak Design won an award for its Everyday Backpack made with the fabric.

The company is also highlighting the X-Pac RX30 at the show. All three layers of this laminate are made from 100% recycled materials. These include a face fabric made from recycled PET bottles, Dimension-Polyant’s own recycled X-Ply fibre reinforcement, and a lightweight recycled polyester film backing. This reference is available in 12 different colours, including a new moss green shade.

“With X-Pac RX30, we set out to design a fabric that captures the spirit of modern adventure that’s technical, timeless and responsibly made,” said Mr North, citing brands Tom Bhin, Alpaka and Arkel are early users.
