Dimension-Polyant introduces X-Pac hyperTEC Series
High-tech fabric manufacturer Dimension-Polyant is launching a new fabric family in its X-Pac fabrics that are made from ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). The new hyperTec series targets demanding applications such as mountaineering, climbing, skiing and bikepacking.
Three new fabrics make up the X-Pac hyperTEC range. UX10 weighs 82 gsm and is designed to offer “versatile performance” for packs. UX10 ST, which weighs 122 gsm, is a single-layer construction delivering “durability and weight efficiency”. UX20 ST, at 154 gsm, focuses on “structural integrity” for “maximum load-bearing performance”.
“Initial brand reaction to our X-Pac hyperTEC fabrics has been very positive and we are excited to collaborate with partners to provide a reliable hyper-performance fabric, with the heritage of the X-Pac brand and technology behind it,” commented Taylor North, head of technical fabrics for the company based in Putnam, Connecticut. “Using advanced fibres allows us to produce laminates that are ultra-light and have a tremendous strength to weight-ratio, while maintaining the durability and reliability that X-Pac is known for.”
