French brand Bolid’ster, a maker of protective denims for motorcyclists, has released its Ride’ster V jeans in black for the first time.

The company exclusively uses Tejidos Royo-made Armalith 2.0 high-protection denim fabrics. Made from 100% Armalith in a 50% cotton, 43% ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and 7% Lycra elastane fibre blend, each pair weighs 14 ounces and retails for around $475.

Their zonal construction delivers different degrees of Darmstadt-approved abrasion resistance, from the buttocks, hips and knees (zone one) to the crotch area (zone three), then the rest (zone two). Zones one and two are woven from Armalith “super stretch”, the remainder using Armalith Light.

Each pair comes with a ten-year warranty.
