Dutch Spirit and Schoeller develop “100% recyclable” workwear fabrics

Textile technology developer Schoeller has worked in partnership with waste-reducing fabric developer Dutch Spirit to produce Inspire, a new range of 100% recyclable workwear fabrics.

Both companies have said they believe Inspire represents “a completely sustainable concept for the workwear segment”. At the end of their service life, these fabrics can be fully recycled again.

Made from polyester fibres, Inspire textiles have high levels of durability, which is also a way of “contributing to the preservation of resources”, the companies have said. They can also be manufactured with “significantly lower” levels of water, land and energy consumption, according to the two partners.

Workwear manufacturers choosing to use the fabrics can also take up options to include additional functions from Schoeller technologies, such as 3XDRY for water-repellency on the exterior and a cooling effect in the interior. Another option is the new, fluorocarbon-free ecorepel finish for water- and dirt-repelling properties.
