Gucci selects repurposed textiles from Italian recycling collaboration
An Italy-based platform for re-engineering wool and cashmere materials for fashion has been selected for some Gucci pieces.
Re.Verso was launched in September 2014 by a group of companies to repurpose textile clippings and turn them into high-quality fabrics.
Clippings are collected by Green Line and manually selected by Nuova Fratelli Boretti, where they are then converted into a new fibre.
A. Stelloni Collection by Mapel, Filatura C4 and Filpucci then turn the fibre into yarn and textiles.
Re.Verso is represented by textile body CLASS (Creativity Lifestyle and Sustainable Synergy), an international network that provides designers and buyers with sustainable fabric choices.
