10/09/2015
Avantex, a new trade fair for high-tech fashion fabrics, will open its doors in Paris next week (September 14 to 17) with around 30 exhibitors.

Topics for the 14 seminars include applications for intelligent textiles, washability of technological fabrics, how the fusion of electronics and fashion is making new products possible, and developments in functional textiles and dermotextiles.

There will be 18 companies from Taiwan, including Camangi, part of the Umorfil Beauty Fiber group; Chia Her and Hermin Textile. Lenzing (Austria) will have its own ‘innovation area’ for visitors interested in cellulose fabric technology and Vision Textile will show its textiles made from recycled plastic bottles.

Michael Scherpe, CEO of show organiser Messe Frankfurt France, said: “With Avantex, we are bringing something new to Paris, which will be able to boast a trade fair dedicated to products for tomorrow’s fashion. We have always been responsive to market development and are delighted to have been able to establish this event to promote technological textiles, which even the professionals don’t know much about yet.”
