Stefan Doboczky (pictured) said the main priorities will be growing cooperation with customers, expanding its leadership for man-made cellulose fibres and opening up new businesses areas to “safeguard and expand Lenzing’s leadership role for man-made cellulose fibres".
“To achieve this, we will focus more intensively on the most attractive segments in the specialty fibre business. Lenzing will put value before volume in the future. We aim at achieving volume growth.”
The Austrian group expects demand for man-made cellulose fibres to increase by 5% to 6% until 2020, which is nearly twice as fast as the global fibre market. The nonwovens segment is expected to expand twice as fast as the textile market.
To keep up with demand, Lenzing will increase its own pulp production volumes and expanding strategic co-operations.
A programme aimed at strengthening commercial processes is designed to deliver an extra €50 million in earnings by the 2017. The reorganisation of the technical service units will be concluded next year.
The group will also establish regional centres for “innovations” and will move greater decision-making powers to the regions.
Lenzing reported its third quarter results last week.
