Sustainable down and cellulosic fibres on agenda at outdoor events

 The US-based Outdoor Industry Association is hosting two roundtables on Sustainable Down this summer – one for European partners in Germany and the second for counterparts in the US.
The European event, hosted by the European Outdoor Group and Germany’s BSI, will be held on June 23 at Globetrotter’s headquarters in Hamburg.

The US event will be held during the TexWorld USA Trade Fair on July 22 in New York.

The organisation said: “To further advance the development and implementation of down sourcing standards and best practices, there is recognition that other industries with a major stake in the down supply chain - including luxury apparel, home textiles, hospitality, and food - will also need to be involved in these efforts.”

Also at Texworld on July 22, the Textile Exchange will be hosting a wood-based cellulosics event, supported by panellists from Sappi, Lenzing and Eileen Fisher.
