The partners will work together to develop fabrics that satisfy performance functions, such as waterproofness, breathability and comfort, while at the same time being 100% recyclable. They will use water-repellent technologies based on renewable raw materials, as well as advanced membrane technology.
German fibre and yarn producer Heinrich Glaeser Nachfolger is the “recycler” in the project, while fibre manufacturer Märkische Faser will serve as the “upcycler”.
Swiss textile developer Schoeller will be responsible for manufacturing the fabrics. Functional materials specialist Sympatex will provide recyclable, PFC-free membranes and recycled outer materials and linings.
The final company is DutchSpirit, which is responsible for creating the wear2wear project. The Dutch company was formed in 2010 and aims to educate people about sustainable clothing, as well as providing circular clothing in the corporate and workwear segment.
