Australian triathlete to use Celliant on the road to Rio

Celliant is the proprietary technology of California-based Hologenix, which has been making “bio-responsive” fibres and textiles for more than 10 years. In an application such as sports apparel, the technology harnesses and recycles heat from the wearer’s body. It uses a proprietary combination of minerals, embedded into the core of the yarn. Heat is transferred into infrared light (IR), which is absorbed into the body. The result, Hologenix insists, is superior muscle performance, improved thermal regulation and faster recovery and more restorative sleep after training or competing.
“The end use of the performance products containing this innovative technology has been clinically proven to enhance tissue oxygen, levels while improving athletic performance, sleep quality, health and wellness,” Hologenix has said.
The Celliant-enhanced apparel Emma Jackson will wear comes from a specialist Australian sports apparel provider called Project, an avid user of the Hologenix technology. “We are very particular who we approach to be ambassadors for our brand,” said Project founder and managing director, Graeme Clarke. “Emma was always on our radar as she consistently performs at a high standard and is a great communicator, which is imperative when you are constantly testing new fabrics and technologies.”
