Its proprietary construction enables excess heat and moisture to escape, keeping users comfortable and dry. In addition, product designers may use a wider variety of stretch shell, breathable outer and liner fabrics, resulting in more year-round choices for manufacturers, retailers and consumers, PrimaLoft said on announcing the new technology.

A proprietary finish and manufacturing process locks tiny PrimaLoft fibres in place, preventing fibres from migrating through fabrics, allowing for use with more breathable, open weave and stretch materials. Engineered for high-aerobic actions like running, hiking or skiing, this soft, packable and water-resistant insulation regulates wearers’ comfort levels during intense activity.
