DuPont is opening apparel testing facilities in Brazil and Singapore this year, increasing its capacity to test the performance of fire-repellant textiles.

The group operates similar facilities in the US, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.

Rose Lee, DuPont Protection Solutions president, said: “We will be poised to support the development of more advanced fabrics, as well as advancing our own fibre technologies, which will increase and broaden the levels of flame-resistant protection for those most at risk, including firefighters, industrial workers, emergency response professionals and military personnel.”

More than three million firefighters, as well as workers across the manufacturing, chemical, oil and gas industries, emergency response and armed forces personnel, use DuPont’s Nomex.
