US shoe imports from China lowest in 17 years
The US imported 18% more shoes in February compared with the same month last year, at 15% higher value, according to data analysed by the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA).

The organisation said that during January and February, just 63% of these came from China – which is on track to be the lowest annual share in 17 years.

It also advises caution on seeing all positives from the jump in imports as sales are not matching import growth, meaning inventory problems could be on the horizon for the industry.
