First Smart Fabrics Summit held in Washington

The event, co-hosted by The Industrial Fabrics Association International and the US Department of Commerce saw respected figures within the US textiles industry discuss the future of smart fabric.
“The day was a huge success,” IFAI President and CEO Mary Hennessy said. “Some of the best minds in the industry gave us an exciting look at the future.”
US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker was in attendance and chaired a roundtable discussion about the potential effect of smart fabrics on everyday life.
“It is the future,” Hennessy added. “The American textile industry has been in the forefront of change for fifty years and smart fabrics are the next logical step.”
