DyStar makes US acquisition

Textile chemicals manufacturer DyStar has acquired five specialty chemical units from a US company, Emerald Performance Materials.

The five units DyStar has acquired include Emerald’s polymer additives business. However, it said immediately that it will sell the polymer additives to a Chinese company, Jiangsu Sinorgchem Technology, a subsidiary of the state-owned Sinochem Group.

Upon completion of the transactions, DyStar will add three new manufacturing sites to its US business platform.
