New testing lab in Bangladesh for DyStar

26/02/2019
Specialist textile chemical company DyStar opened a new testing laboratory in Dhaka on February 14. It will be run by the group’s subsidiary Texanlab, which it acquired in 2010.

The lab will serve Bangladesh’s textile exporters, offering end-to-end supply chain solutions from raw materials up to finished products. Its facilities will allow for testing against standards from organisations like ZDHC and REACH.

DyStar CEO Eric Hopmann said Bangladesh is now a key exporter of garments and textile exports, which is why the company has opted to set up a testing facility there. He added that exporters are expected to meet the requirements of different retailers, something which Texanlab Bangladesh can help them do.

There are already three Texanlab laboratories in India, along with this first one in Bangladesh. Mr Hopmann said the target is to open more in Turkey, Vietnam and perhaps Pakistan.
