Sportswear manufacturer Nike has renewed its partnership with La Liga, the highest league in Spanish football, until at least 2019. The deal will see matches in the league use the new Ordem 4 ball, which uses Nike’s aerodynamic technology to "deliver accurate flight and consistent touch".

"We are delighted to extend this partnership, which began in the 1996–97 season,” said Lorenzo Moretti, general manager of Nike Football in Western Europe.

“La Liga is in a process of international expansion and partnering with Nike contributes to build our global prestige,” added Javier Tebas, President of La Liga.

La Liga commercial director, Adolfo Bara, said that agreement would allow the league to “support football around the world” and help “assist the development of the sport overseas”.
