India supports upgrade of Egyptian textile training centre

“Egypt was identified by India as one of the countries for setting up of a vocational training centre (VTC) at the India-Africa Forum Summit with an outlay of $1 million,” the Indian Embassy in Cairo said.
The inauguration of the upgraded centre in in Shoubra El Kheima, Cairo, was attended by Sanjay Bhattacharyya, India’s ambassador to Egypt, Tarek Kabil, Egypt’s minister of trade and industry and minister of international cooperation, Sahar Nasr.
The VTC trains around 350 students each year and will now offer a range of courses related to the textile industry. The Indian embassy hopes the upgrade will raise productivity, generate jobs and raise the GDP of Egypt.
