Reef donates to refugee education programme
Surf brand Reef has contributed $10,000 to a project to improve the education available to children in refugee camps in Greece.

The joint initiative with charity Armando Aid aims to fund education programmes, build schools and buy materials for the Oinofyta and Ritsona refugee camps in Greece, which house many children from Syria, Afghanistan and other unstable countries in the Middle East.

“It is important for us to help shed light on a timely issue and inspire support to help these people,” said Chelsea Rauhut, Reef’s public relations manager.

The US brand has also provided footwear and apparel for children in the Oinofyta camp, which has grown from 150 to 700 people since June. Reef Ambassadors Mike Lay, Victoria Vergara, and Anna Ehrgott have visited the camp to help build a school.
