Osprey chief executive to leave

Colorado-based backpack brand Osprey has announced the departure of its chief executive, Tom Barney. Mr Barney joined Osprey in August 2001. He will remain in post until the end of October.

Osprey’s founder and owner, Mike Pfotenhauer, said on making the announcement that Tom Barney had driven significant and had helped establish the brand as “a leader in the outdoor industry”.

The company said it is in the final stages of its search for a replacement and plans to announce its new chief executive before the end of 2016.
