No TPP ratification for Vietnam this year

An official confirmed in mid-October that TPP approval forms no part of the current legislative session of the Vietnamese parliament, which runs until late November. It will therefore be 2017 at the earliest before this can come before parliament.
Commentators in Asia have said enthusiasm for TPP is waning in several parts of the continent and that some of the trading partners are growing closer to China, which is excluded from TPP.
