First shoe from Gore-Tex to be available in 2017

WL Gore has unveiled a new running shoe that it says has all the benfits of its Gore-Tex protective footwear technology but with the fit and feel of regular running shoes. The Invisible Fit shoe features the Gore-Tex membrane that can be bonded to a variety of athletic uppers. The resulting footwear keeps the feet dry and comfortable when running in harsh weather conditions.

Gore said wrinkles and folds have been eliminated from the shoe and pressure marks “significantly reduced” to improve fit. It features custom drop liners in the heel to eliminate stitching abrasion in the heel and ankle. The design of the tongue helps to reduce irritation on the instep.

The shoe will be manufactured by Saucony and Innov-8 and will be available in autumn/winter 2017. Gore will officially unveil the technology used at ISPO in Munich in February.
