REI to turn to Gore-Tex technology from spring 2018

Outdoor clothing and equipment co-operative REI will use Gore-Tex membrane technology in its range of technical outerwear from spring 2018.

The companies made the announcement on the first day of the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, US (July 26-29).

Gore-Tex will replace eVent as REI’s fabric of choice for its waterproof and breathable apparel. 

REI will release three jackets and a pair of pants that use Gore-Tex Active in spring 2018. It will add more products, including Gore-Tex gloves in autumn of the same year. All will be available on men’s and women’s styles. 

The products REI is developing using Gore-Tex Active were on display at its booth at Outdoor Retailer.
