Specialist provider of colour chemicals Archroma has received an award in ‘eco-innovation’ from campaign group World Wildlife Fund Pakistan.

The Pakistan office of the non-governmental organisation named Archroma as the winner of the award for what it called the company’s continuous efforts to foster sustainable innovations aimed at preserving dwindling ground water reserves, and developing eco-efficient processes that reduce energy and resource consumption.

Chief executive of Archroma Pakistan, Mujtaba Rahim, commented that the company is using natural waste such as walnut and almond husks to make a range of dyes called EarthColors and its effluent treatment plant at Jamshoro has zero liquid discharge.
