Wrangler celebrates saving 3 million litres of water

The company achieved this milestone by merging steps in the finishing process for its jeans. This typically consists of multiple water baths but Wrangler said it managed to reduce water use “without compromising on quality”.
It has also intensified its water recycling programme, investing in advanced wastewater treatment systems to improve effluent water quality. This means treated water can be cycled back through the system.
It cited the example of its Torreon facility in Northern Mexico, which achieved a 45% water-recycling rate through a combination of disc filtration and biological treatment processes. It hopes to achieve a 75% recycling rate at the facility by 2018.
“We are expanding our water stewardship programme goals to further help reduce our impact and conserve the water resources of the communities where we operate,” said Tom Waldron, president of Wrangler.
It is now targeting a 20% reduction in water usage at all of its facilities by 2020.
