Bolger & O’Hearn to use solar energy for textile chemical production

12/01/2017
Textile chemicals developer Bolger & O’Hearn has installed solar panels at its Massachusetts headquarters. With an output of roughly 87kWh, the panels will convert sunlight into clean energy, thereby providing more efficient, responsibly sourced power to its facilities, the company said on announcing the development. As a result, it will also reduce its carbon footprint.

“The decision to implement solar panels is emblematic of our commitment to sustainability,” said company president, Shaun O’Hearn. “We’re on a long and determined journey to produce textile-effect finishes in the most ecologically sound manner.”

He said that brand parners now want to see that suppliers are taking environmental concerns into account in their operations.
