ISPO announces 2017 Award winners

A jury made up of 50 international industry figures has selected the winners of the 2017/18 ISPO Awards. They were chosen from more than 500 entries. 

The awards are separated into five categories: Action, Outdoor, Ski, Performance, and Health & Fitness. Each category sees several Gold Award winners selected for the best new developments with one from each winning Product of the Year.

•ACTION: Korua Shapes - Tugboat

An innovative new snowboard design with a broad nose to provide extreme lift in deep powder, and a tapered shape and 3D base to provide plenty of pressure through the edge. A channel along the bottom of the board guarantees stability at high speeds.

•OUTDOOR: Scarpa – Ribelle Tech

An all-year mountain boot designed for professional alpinist and outdoor enthusiasts. It is lightweight, comfortable and durable. It is suitable for any mountain activity, from trekking to climbing.

•SKI: Bootdoc, BD Vandra 3d Scanner

A 3D scanner that can provide a three-dimensional image of the foot. It provides various measurement data including instep height, ankle circumference, foot length and width and takes skill levels into account. This allows it to recommends ski boots and inlay soles within seconds.

•PERFORMANCE: ON - Cloudflash

An innovative running shoe with a sole designed to provide optimum traction. A has a speed board made of energy-transmitting Pebax that offers energy return to the wearer. The hybrid inlay provides extra comfort and the performance heel conforms to the foot perfectly. 

•HEALTH & FITNESS: Bowflex - SELECTTECH 560 DUMBBELLS

A smart dumbbell with a sensor and corresponding smartphone application. It guides the athlete through their workout, counts repetitions and keeps track of calories burned.
