Paddlesports Retailer relocates after just one year

04/09/2017
The organisers of Paddlesports Retailer have announced that the event will relocate to Oklahoma City in 2018, citing the need for more space following its inaugural edition.

The event was created at the end of 2016 in response to a decision to bring the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market forward in the calendar. Founders Sutton Bacon and Darren Bush believed this change would make it difficult for paddlesports companies to attend.

The first edition of Paddlesports Retailer took place from August 29 to September 1, 2017 in Madison, Wisconsin. It will now relocate for its second edition.

“There are two primary reasons that we’re moving to Oklahoma City,” explained Marcus Shoffner, show manager. “First, we are simply out of space in Madison. We were overwhelmed by the response from both retailers and vendors at our inaugural show. Oklahoma City gives us room to expand with a new 200,000 square foot convention centre slated to open in 2020. But, most importantly, Oklahoma City offers the country’s premier paddlesports venue which will be the centrepiece of our event.”

The next edition of Paddlesports Retailer will take place from August 28-30, 2018 at Oklahoma City’s Cox Convention Centre.
