WSA editor moderates ‘athleisure’ debate

Guest speakers were Pierluigi Berardi, vice-president, global marketing and R&D, at specialist nylon 6.6 developer Nilit, and Chris Chiang, senior manager, at Taiwanese polyester yarn producer Singtex. Both gave details of the impact on their companies of extra demand for performance fibres for use in garments that consumers can wear all day and everywhere from the office to a nightclub.
In an interactive and fun conclusion to the discussion, members of the audience were able to say if they would be willing to wear a variety of athletic garments or shoes to work, to an exhibition, on a date or to a wedding.
