Intertextile Shanghai “exceeds expectations”

26/03/2018
The recent Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics exhibition, which took place from March 14-16, welcomed more than 82,000 buyers, an increase of 15% compared to the figure for the March 2017 edition of the event.

There was strong growth in the number of buyers from Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and India, the top four countries in terms of buyer numbers this year. The top 10 also included Italy, Bangladesh, the US, Taiwan, Russia and the UK.

There were a total of 3,386 exhibitors at the event, slightly higher than for last year.

Wendy Wen, senior general manager of Messe Frankfurt HK, the event’s organiser, said: “After the strong increase in the buyer figure at last October’s Autumn Edition and the generally favourable outlook of the global textile industry in recent months, we were expecting a strong result this year, but the increased number of exhibitors and buyers placing their trust in this fair as their main business platform has completely exceeded our expectations.”
