New home for UK’s unified outdoor trade shows

The organisers of the UK-based Outdoor Trade Show (OTS) have named Manchester the venue for next year’s show, following events in the Midlands and the Lake District.

The show will take place at EventCity (3 to 5 July), following “exhaustive research with retailers and exhibitors” that reflected the need for a location convenient for both northern and southern retailers.

Kendal Outdoor Retail Show (KORS) and Reliable Outdoor Kit Show (ROKS) will take place under the same roof.

The OTS founding group comprised of AMG, Burton McCall and The Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) said they share a common goal of trying to create ‘one national trade show’ and have lobbied with trade suppliers as well as ROKS and KORS organisers for the co-location of the shows.

CEO of JD Sports Outdoor Division and OIA board member Lee Bagnall said: “Retailers are presented with too many opportunities and invitations by suppliers to review products. The ability to come to one venue and see many brands under the one roof all at the same time makes perfect sense. We believe that a UK national show that unites the industry is very important for our trade.”
