Madagascar gets first accredited textile laboratory

The means that the facility, which SGS opened in 2013, becomes the country’s first accredited textile laboratory. It will allow SGS to further support the Madagascan textile industry.
The laboratory is dedicated to conformance and performance testing and is intended to help local textile manufacturing companies to comply with international requirements.
In reaction to the news, Cédric Catheline, managing director of SGS in Madagascar, said: “In any certification and accreditation process, getting the certificate is just the starting point. It officially confirms the company's commitment to comply with the standards, but it also implies that it will be necessary to double our efforts to keep on top and to maintain this accreditation, and to gradually expand the scope.”
