Devan designs while-you-sleep textile skin treatment

Devan has said the new textile treatments, which it has called R-Vital, can enable textile manufacturers to boost their offerings and provide consumers with health and wellness benefits.
“In our daily lives, we are confronted with energy loss, sleep deprivation, ageing, allergens, pollution, UV damage,” Devan said at the time of the announcement. “We have found a way to boost the textiles we sleep on, so they can help to reduce negative impacts from outside and enhance wellbeing.”
The idea centres on patented encapsulation technology that Devan claims enables it to create different solutions for a variety of purposes, all of which are environmentally sound and skin-friendly.
Revitalising ingredients will enter the body during sleep through contact between skin and treated textiles and become active. Ingredients will include anti-oxidants for protection against free radicals, ageing, pollution and the effects of UV.
