Hyperlite to invest in automation after fresh funding drive

US outdoor equipment manufacturer Hyperlight Mountain Gear has announced it has raised $1.1 million in equity funding. Investment companies CEI Ventures, Telluride Venture Fund and Maine Venture Fund led this new round of financing. 

The money will be used to expand the company’s production and research and development capacities. It will also allow it to introduce automation at its manufacturing facility in Biddeford, Maine. 

“We’ve had production constraints that have limited our ability to make new products, so this will help,” explained Hyperlite co-founder Dan St. Pierre. 

Hyperlite will also use this fresh funding to grow its workforce, which currently stands at more than 50. In the next six months, it plans to add three marketing and up to nine new production positions.
