Unifi makes corporate responsibility appointment

Specialist manufacturer of recycled performance fibres, Unifi, has appointed Eddie Ingle as its new vice-president for global corporate responsibility and supply chain. He will also be general manager for the process of turning plastic bottles into chips and flakes to make new polyester fibre.

Through its Repreve technology, Unifi says it has transformed more than 10 billion plastic bottles into recycled fibre for new clothing, shoes and other consumer products.

At the time of the announcement, Mr Ingle commented: “Unifi’s passion for recycling and sustainability has always been a point of pride for me. My goal moving forward is to collaborate across the company and industry to develop sustainable solutions that create value for us, our customers and consumers.”
