Imprima turns its attention to the US

Italian private equity fund management company Wise SGR launched Imprima in February 2017. Its previous acquisitions have included German finishing and textile printing company KBC, and Italian textile printing specialists Guarisco and Società Europa Tessile (SET).
It has now added City Prints and sister company Premier Fabrics to its portfolio. Both were founded in 1997 and are based in New York and Los Angeles, respectively. They supply printed fabrics to important US retailers like Walmart, Target and Macy’s, as well as to fashion brands such as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger.
The co-founders of City Prints and Premier Fabrics, Jason and Ryan Borg, will continue to hold leadership positions at the companies and will become shareholders of Imprima.
“Our entry into the Imprima group is an excellent opportunity to consolidate and increase our commercial positioning in the market,” they said, adding that Imprima is planning to open a digital production facility in the US.
