US textile bodies to merge

22/03/2018
The National Council of Textile Organisations (NCTO) and the American Fibre Manufacturers Association (AFMA) have announced they will merge on April 1.

The merged organisation will take the NCTO name. It will be led by current NCTO president and CEO Auggie Tantillo.

William McCrary, NCTO chairman, said: “The NCTO merger with AFMA strengthens the US textile industry’s ability to influence federal policy.  It brings new members and financial resources to NCTO and extends the organisation’s political reach.”

For his part, AFMA chairman Mark Ruday said: “AFMA’s merger with NCTO will allow US fibre producers to keep the sector’s seat at the federal policy table.”
